BATHROOM REDECORATION

Home decor can be a lot of fun but it can also be kinda stressful, am I right?! Whenever making some changes, you want to make sure you get it right and that what you're envisioning in your head comes to life the way you imagined.  In the last few months, Kev and I have spent some time redecorating some of our main floor.  It wasn’t in need of renovation but there were little things I knew  that we could do that could easily incorporate a fresher style into the house.  The bathroom seemed like an easy place to start to switch out a few little things to update it from rustic to more of a modern rustic farmhouse vibe!  Here are a couple of before pictures of the bathroom, right before it was about to be painted!

I really did not do a good job in taking before pictures! LOL.  As you can see, the decor was already down and we were getting ready to paint.  But hopefully you get the gist.  The walls were a brownish taupe colour, which I really didn't mind at all but for the sake of freshening up, I ended up changing it to something lighter.  The hardware and light fixture were dark bronze, and the decor I originally had in there was all pretty rustic.  As you'll see in the next few pictures, the walls were painted an airy light grey instead, and I replaced items that were easy to change out to incorporate a lighter, fresher feel!

We replaced the light fixture, switched out bathroom hardware for chrome (like the towel rack, toilet paper holder and faucet), hung some DIY shelving (that cost us MAYBE $20 total to make!), switched out bathroom linens and then added some fresh new decor, including some greenery!  I think I will eventually want to switch out or paint the vanity/counter top as well.. I'm picturing a dark grey vanity and a big white sink (hubby, are you eye rolling yet??)  but I already love the changes we made and we're just going to keep taking it little by little!

VOILA!! As you can see, we didn't renovate - all of the large items stayed the same; but a few little changes made a really big difference.  I think the room looks bigger, brighter & more polished than I had it before.   I'm really happy with the way it turned out!!
