BREE'S FIRST BIRTHDAY
I can't believe it - where did that year go?! My baby girl is one!! We had an amazing day a couple weekends ago with family and friends, throwing her a sweet little party to celebrate! I know this post has come late but seriously... we all know that we start to slack as each kid comes along don't we LOL. Anyway it was SUCH a great day! That has to be the best part of parenting, isn't it?! Seeing your kids feel so special and have a great time! But holy sh** it was it ever hot outside. All the kiddies had tons of fun in and around the pool- it's days like those I'm beyond thankful the pool is there because it would have felt next to impossible to have the kids be able to play outside for that long without it.
Seriously, melt my heart!! I love throwing little parties for my kiddies- I think birthdays are fun and deserve to be celebrated, especially when you're a kid (cause now they just remind you you're getting older hahah!). Plus, it just makes for a fun day!
This super cute smash cake was made by a local company called "Just Blain Sweet". We weren't originally planning on getting Bree a smash cake, but as it turned out, the owner said she always makes a FREE smash cake to accompany the purchase of a 1st birthday cake- no brainer!
Much like most birthday parties I've thrown for Jase in the past, I stuck to a lot of appetizer-like finger foods, some of which I've shared on here already (like a super easy cheeseball - it's a staple! - you can read the recipe here). I didn't really go with a theme but I stuck to pastel coloured decorations which I thought were simple and super cute for a little girl's party! All of these cute and easy decorations were from Party City Canada! They make it easy (and super affordable) to add some cute decor to your party! The ribbon banner hanging from the mantle was one I found on Etsy (and they are readily available on there - with any colour combination you can think of).
My sweet girl was so lucky to receive wonderful gifts from our amazing friends and family members- now if only her birthday came with a manual on how to navigate parenting a three and one year old! LOL
