VICHY PRODUCTS - FIRST IMPRESSION

I don't know about anyone else but we've getting pummelled with thunderstorms this afternoon, and getting a TON of rain (which is not a complaint because we definitely needed it!!).  Hopefully these storms mean that this insane heat wave is going to break! Man oh man has it ever been hot!! On the plus side, my kids have been nonstop in the pool (we've also had swimming lessons all week so that's helped) and if you're a (bad?) parent like me, this has totally meant that the necessity to actually bathe my children has significantly decreased LOL.

Anyway, if you've been following along with my Instagram stories (and if you haven't been, GO DO IT! That's where all the day to day madness happens!) I mentioned how I was very generously given a variety of products from Vichy Canada to try out.  It all stemmed from some really silly (and annoying) eye problems including watery eyes, dry eyelids, puffy undereyes, and just generally sore, raw skin around my eyes.  The account executive for Vichy - Southwestern Ontario reached out to me and said she had a product that would really be able to help me out- and then very generously delivered me a ton of product to try on top of it!

You guys know I am all about skincare and trying to find what's best for my (horrid) postpartum skin, so I hopped right to testing some of them out, and want to share with you my first impression thoughts about the products I was given!

Initially, there were two products I fell in love with right off the bat.  The first is the Purete Thermale 3 in 1 One Step Cleanser.  It's basically a cleanser, toner and eye makeup remover all in one (paraben free, and perfect for use on sensitive skin and eyes!).  What I immediately fell in love with was the formula! It's like a super soft milky lotion that I used right off the bat to take off my makeup.  It worked great, and it was SUPER gentle and my skin felt really soft after!  I normally use a makeup remover cloth but the rubbing can really irritate my eyes when they're already sore, so I really liked this as a gentle alternative!

The next product I immediately added to my daily routine was the Ideal Soleil Anti-Shine Dry Touch Lotion SPF60.  Right off the bat- SPF60?!?! Amazing!! Many, if not all, of the face sunscreens I have owned and used were SPF30.  We all know that the main defence against aging is protecting your skin from the sun- so I thought it was awesome to see SPF60 on the bottle!  I used it under makeup and I couldn't tell at all that I had sunscreen on underneath.  It's light, and advertised as a "dry lotion" - it truly does feel that way on your skin.  It isn't greasy or oily at all.  I LOVE it and can definitely see this being my go-to face sunscreen!

Next, I really loved the Liftactiv Supreme cream.  It's a super supple moisturizer you can use for fighting fine lines, wrinkles and loss of skin firmness.  I loved the formula of the moisturizer right away- it felt super gentle, and didn't have a chemical smell that you sometimes find with anti-aging products.  My skin felt really smooth (obviously it's going to take longer for me to see any real results), but overall I was initially really happy with the formula!

I am REALLY excited to see what results I get from the Normaderm line!  It's specifically for acne and blemish-prone skin, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how my skin does after using this line for awhile - especially because, again, it's for sensitive skin but is advertised to be able to control acne so we'll see how it goes!

Last but certainly not least, the whole reason I took to Instagram in the first place- my eyes! I was given the Mineral 89 Skin Fortifying Daily Booster to help combat dry, flaky skin around my eyes, especially on my eyelids and beside the outer corners, as well as sore, puffy, raw skin under my eyes.  I've used it a few times now and it has definitely helped soothe my skin.  I'm not about to tell you it has worked any miracles (YET! I've only been using it for a few days!) but I have really high hopes that it's going to help out a lot!!

What I care most about at this point has been finding products that will fight acne, blemishes and signs of aging, while still being gentle on my sensitive skin, especially around my eyes.  I'm feeling really hopeful after trying some of the Vichy products that I'll have found a line that can help me achieve skin I'm confident with!!
