5 OF MY FAVOURITE BLOGGERS TO FOLLOW!
Before I launched this whole blog, I was in a state of awe and admiration over a few bloggers I followed who REALLY seemed to have it all figured out. They had a passion, goals, and just knew what they were doing. I was so inspired by these women who had taken something they were so passionate about, whether it be fashion, body positivity, motherhood, etc. and created welcoming spaces for women to come, read and be inspired.
What attracted me the most to the bloggers I followed was a sense of relatability in some way, shape or form. Whether it was their style, their body positive mindset, their attitude or their lifestyle, what I really looked for was the feeling of first being able to relate, and then in turn feeling inspired. That's why I started this blog in the first place! I wanted an outlet for myself, but also a chance to give people something or someone to relate to, and then feel encouraged in some way.
I wanted to share with you five bloggers (in no particular order) that I admire, respect, and enjoy following so much! These are strong, confident, knowledgeable women who help to inspire me each day to be better. That's the whole point- to feel and live better. These aren't women who blog to shove their luxurious lifestyles or perfect bodies in your face- they're real, positive, and hardworking.
1. Sarah Tripp, Sassy Red Lipstick
Sarah Tripp is one of my absolute favourite bloggers! She's a body positive fashion blogger, based out of San Francisco. She blogs full time with her husband Robbie, and I'm seriously obsessed with her blog! Her content is amazing. She's all about setting a positive example for women everywhere, insisting that fashion isn't limited to girls who are a certain size or shape. On her blog, she is quoted saying, “I want every woman to know that being fashionable is just as much about confidence as it is about style.” This rings true in every aspect of her blog and social media presence. I related to her so well right off the bat, trying to navigate fashion and society as a fellow curvy girl. She has a killer amount of confidence, she will unapologetically wear (and SLAY) anything she wants to, and rocks a bathing suit LIKE NO OTHER. Her blog and IG feed are both beautiful and colourful- just like her.
2. Lauren McBride, Lauren McBride Blog
I have really enjoyed following Lauren McBride for some time now! I admire her sense of fashion- it's casual, current, and always mom/nursing friendly -but what I most enjoy (again) is the realness. Her social media presence, in particular her IG stories, are definitely blog based- lots of beauty/home products, and fashion- but there's TONS of real life mom moments in there too. As a mom of three, she's super down to earth, and isn't afraid to show her true self when it comes to the craziness of life.
3. Chantelle Spark, @chantellespark (Instagram)
I have enjoyed following Chantelle Spark on IG so much!!! She's a beautiful soon-to-be mama of FOUR from Calgary (a fellow canuck- hell ya!). Her feed is light, airy and beautiful, her girls are absolutely gorgeous, and I honestly just love seeing a fellow curvy girl killin' it. I LOVE her style - it's so simple, modern and chic! I also love the super cute pictures she does with her girls- they always make me smile! She is extremely kind, and really engaging on social media.
4. Rebecca Wattenschaidt, Mommy in Heels
I have followed Rebecca from Mommy in Heels for quite some time now, and have to say that I absolutely LOVE her casual style! She's a mom of two, owns her own clothing store, and blogs full-time (busy woman!!). Again, she's a fellow curvy girl and proud of it. She does tons of try ons and is all about helping women find comfortable clothing for their shape. She has a super down to earth social media presence, and I've really enjoyed and been inspired by her casual and affordable approach to fashion!
5. Angie Culpepper Johnston, Southern Modern Mom
Guys you have to check this one out!! I LOVE Angie's blog. She is honestly just so. friggen. normal, it makes her so easy to relate to!! Her blog is honest (and FUNNY!) when it comes to marriage, life and motherhood. She isn't afraid to post something embarrassing if it means someone will be able to laugh, or relate to it in some way. I love her realness, and always feel better (and half ass ordinary) after reading her blog.
