FIVE PRODUCT FACE

Hey guys! Today I want to tackle a really quick and easy post in response to questions I’ve been getting about creating a really quick and easy morning makeup routine. Part of making your makeup routine faster is zoning in on the products you consider an absolute “must” for yourself. Cutting down on the number of products you’re using can greatly cut down on the time it takes you - less steps, less time.

The key to this is also trying to choose products that can really help you out time-wise and be used as double-duty products. For example, a highlight stick that could be used as a little pop of colour on the lips as well. The more uses you can come up with for a single product, the easier and therefore faster it will go.

Enter - the five product face! I wanted to share with you guys the products that I would use if I were to only use five to get a makeup look together on those days you need to slap on a few essentials and zoom out of the house!

Foundation

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation

You’ve heard me mention this foundation 1000x and there’s a reason- it’s truly the best that I’ve ever used. It is a completely full coverage foundation that covers blemishes and smoothes out uneven skin tone. In this case, this foundation being so full coverage can also eliminate the need for concealer.

My favourite ways to apply this is either with a damp Beauty Blender or the Morphe M439 Deluxe Buffer Foundation Brush sprayed with some Mac Prep + Prime Fix +.

Bronzer

Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer

This is my absolute favourite bronzer, because it’s an amazing shade and I don’t find it orange like other bronzers I’ve used. It’s also waterproof and blends like a dreaaaaam (patchy bronzer = no no). I love this for adding some contour areas to the face (really quickly in the hollows of your cheek and your forehead can do wonders!).

How to make it work in more ways than one? Use it as your eyeshadow too! Take a fluffy blending brush - my favourite is the Morphe M501 Pro Pointed Blender Brush - and blend it over the lid and darken up a bit in the crease. It gives really quick and easy dimension to your eye without going through a full eyeshadow routine.

Cheek/Lip Colour

I couldn’t choose between these Smashbox and Clinique colour sticks because I love them both. These are absolutely the easiest way to quickly add some colour to your cheeks, but they can both also be used for adding a little colour balm to your lips as well! It’s also super easy to touch up during the day, because each stick is compact and can easily fit into your purse or diaper bag so you can take it along with you. A few quick dabs, blend it with your fingers and you’re ready to go!

Eyebrow Pencil

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

This is an ultra-slim eyebrow pencil that is one of my favourites for filling in brows because it can give you precise, hair-like strokes. You can fill in any sparse areas of your brows, but if you have dark eyebrows like me, you can also use this to smudge along your lash line for a really quick eye-liner to give your eyes a little more dimension. A really quick and easy hack (and yet another way to use your products for more than one use!) to make your morning routine that much quicker.

Mascara

Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara

This is probably the only product that I can’t really use as double duty, but it’s still a must for me. A couple quick coats of mascara on your top and bottom lashes can do wonders when it comes to opening up your eyes and completing a really quick makeup look.

So there you have it - my five product face! Just to summarize, the key is to pick your absolute “musts” - the less products you use, the quicker your routine will be. To make sure you’re getting the most out of the few products you pick, choose ones that can provide more than one use!
